Your voice, thoughts, and personal reflections are deeply private. AI Voice Journal: Mood Tracker is built with privacy as our foundation, not an afterthought. We believe your mental health journey should remain completely under your control.

What We Collect

How Your Voice Data Works

📱 Hybrid Processing

We use a hybrid approach for maximum privacy and performance. Transcription and basic processing happen directly on your device. For advanced AI Reflection and mood tracking, secure recordings are sent to AWS for processing and are deleted immediately afterwards.

🤖 AI Reflection Process

When you opt-in to AI reflections, encrypted audio and text data are processed securely to generate insights. Audio is used for mood tracking, while text is used for reflections. All data is handled with strict privacy controls.

🔒 Data Encryption

All data stored on your device is encrypted using iOS keychain services. Any data transmitted for AI processing uses end-to-end encryption and is deleted immediately after processing.

Your Control

You can always:

  • • Delete all your journal entries and data at any time
  • • Export your data in plain text format
  • • AI reflections and affirmations are securely generated in the cloud
  • • Your voice is transcribed and anonymized before it’s processed
  • • Works without internet for recording, requires connection for AI insights

Third-Party Services

AI Processing & Privacy

When AI reflections are enabled, we use AWS, OpenAI, andfal.ai to process your data securely.

  • Your voice recordings are first transcribed and anonymized locally. Only the anonymized text is sent to our AI providers.
  • OpenAI is used to generate reflections and affirmations. We use their API under a strict no-training, no-storage agreement. According toOpenAI’s API Data Usage Policy, your data is not used for training or improvement of their models.
  • fal.ai helps us transcribe your voice input. According to theirprivacy policy, fal.ai may temporarily store metadata and logs for operational purposes, but transcripts are deleted within 7 days.
  • Both providers comply with major privacy standards including SOC 2, GDPR, and ISO 27001.
  • AWS (Amazon Web Services) handles secure audio processing for mood tracking. Data sent to AWS is encrypted in transit and at rest, and audio files are deleted immediately after the analysis is complete.
  • While analytics help us improve your app experience, we do not store raw audio or personal identifiers with our AI partners.

Your data remains under your control. You can delete all journal entries anytime or export them in plain text format.

Analytics

We use privacy-focused analytics to understand app usage patterns and improve the experience. No personal content or identifiable information is included.

Data Retention

  • • Your journal entries: Stored locally on your device until you delete them
  • • AI processing data: Deleted immediately after generating your reflection
  • • Analytics data: Anonymized and retained for up to 2 years for app improvement
  • • Crash reports: Automatically deleted after 90 days

Legal Requirements

We may disclose your information if required by law, but given our privacy-first architecture:

  • • We have no access to your journal content or voice recordings
  • • We cannot provide what we do not collect or store
  • • Any legal requests would be limited to basic usage analytics only
